Tara Lagu, M.D., M.P.H. attended the Yale University School of Medicine and completed a General Internal Medicine Residency at Brown. Prior to attending medical school, she graduated from the Purdue University School of Pharmacy (and is still a registered pharmacist). While a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Penn, she became interested in quality measurement in primary care settings, with a particular focus on management of cardiovascular risk factors. She also studied the content of weblogs written by health professionals. She is part of the faculty at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, a clinical investigator in the Center for Quality of Care Research at Baystate, and an assistant professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Her work is now focused on the quality and value of health care in the United States, with an interest in the impact of the internet on the doctor-patient relationship. She recently completed a study examining websites that allow patients to write reviews about their doctors and has advocated use of the Internet to improve quality and transparency in health care.
Michael Rothberg, MD, MPH is a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine, an Associate Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine, and the Chief of General Medicine at Baystate Medical Center. He has a longstanding interest in helping patients make good decisions about their care. He is also a national expert on informed consent, quality of care, and the public reporting of quality information. His research has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and other high profile journals.
Dr. Rebekah Gee is an Assistant Professor of Public Health and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University (LSU). She studied history and obtained an M.P.H. at Columbia University in Health Policy and Management, obtained her medical degree at Cornell, and trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard at the Brigham and Women's and Massachusetts General Hospitals. In 2010, Dr. Gee was named Director of the Birth Outcomes Initiative, an Assistant Secretary level position in Louisiana's Department of Health and Hospitals aimed at improving the health of Louisiana's women and children. Dr. Gee has held many leadership roles in organized medicine and reproductive health including local and national leadership roles in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a frequent commentator on national media sources and is the expert Gynecologist for Women's Health and Glamour magazines. Dr. Gee is on the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) Board of Health Care Services and is the inaugural recipient of a two year Gant fellowship at the IOM. Dr. Gee is clinically active and is caring for patients at LSU.
Peter Stuart is the founder of PCS Holdings where he focuses on advising early stage companies and making real estate investments. Currently, Peter serves as an advisor to Gryphn Mobile Security, MynewMD, ECORE Ventures, Foster.ly and several other early and growth stage companies. In 2010, Peter co-founded DC Entrepreneurship Week to help cultivate and celebrate Washington, D.C.'s entrepreneurial community. In 2012, Peter was elected to serve as the interim Chief Executive Officer of Progress Through Business a national non-profit focused on sustaining and enhancing underserved communities through initiatives, research, networking, and strategic partnerships to empower people, and improve social and economic conditions within those communities. Progress Through Business is based out of the Center on Business and Poverty at the University of Wisconsin at Madison's Puelicher Business School. In addition, Peter serves on the entrepreneurship board of Venture for America and is actively involved in StartupDC, a chapter of Startup America Partnership.
